I'm Adam Thompson, our Club's Organizer. I'm an active Illinois Licensed Real Estate Broker, Paralegal and Investor with 16 years of experience. Our Club Membership is open to all levels of Buyers, Sellers and Investors, ranging from beginners to advanced.

OUR REAL ESTATE CLUB DOES NOT SELL MEMBERSHIPS, CD'S, BOOKS, MEMBERSHIP FEES OR "GET RICH FAST" PLANS FOR YOU TO BUY LIKE SOME 'INVESTMENT" GROUPS! BEWARE OF OTHER GROUPS THAT ADVERTISE ON MEETUP AS INVESTOR GROUPS! Club members do not bring their checkbook or credit cards to our meetings!

Our Club is not open to members and their postings for: self promotion, get rich schemes, members posting listings for our Club members to buy, use of their services, etc. We're not open to other Real Estate Agents, Brokers, Lenders, or members joining to bombard us with their services, and, since we do not know if they are legitimate, trustworthy and are in the best interest of our Club Members, their postings and memberships will be promptly removed.


Why did I form this Club?

After watching late night "Get Rich Quick in Real Estate" infomercials, assisting and resolving problems for clients and investors who called me "AFTER" they were not represented properly by their own Agent, and learning the "pro's and con's" and "ups and downs" of Real Estate the hard way, I decided to form our Club. I didn't want our Club Members to learn about Real Estate Investments, Sales and Purchases the hard way.

If you are planning your first purchase, own your home, condo or any type of real estate, you ARE an investor and our Club is for you! Our members range from beginners to experts in Investments and Portfolio growth. Our Club is not a "Networking Group." We are a Club that assists others grow financially based on each Club Members specific goals and interests.

I formed this Club to assist others with my Real Estate and Investing knowledge, along with Legal and Financial experienced professionals to assist our Club Members who seek to Buy, Sell and Invest in Real Estate.

We are successful due to our work ethics, honesty, experience and genuine care for our members and clients. I have personally served on the Association of Realtors Professional Standards Committee and have seen first hand how buyers, sellers and investors have been negatively impacted with incorrect and misleading information and how their agents were only looking out for themselves to close a "deal" vs. closing a transaction that is in the best interest of their client. A "Deal" is a poker term, not a real estate term and a word you will never hear us use in our business.

After experiencing and working for years witnessing first hand the Real Estate market's up and down cycles with interest rates exceeding 9%, we view today's market as an excellent opportunity for purchasing, selling and investing. The key is to know the "Where, Why, How, Location and Price for Purchase, Resale potential and Rental Value" that will make your investment solid.

I've also been an Association Board President for the largest high rise in Lakeview and Chicagoland (56 floors, 902 units, commercial space and 2300 residents). That was a welcoming experience and an eye opener for my career and clients. If you don't understand Rules and Regulations and Declarations and By-Laws, (which most people don't) the effects for resale and special assessment potential will be deadly for your investment. As a paralegal, I have reviewed volumes of Declarations and By-Laws, written in "Legal Jargon" by attorneys for attorneys and have advised many clients on their interpretation and how to proceed or not proceed in their purchase. Another reason for you to join our Club is I will teach you how to spot where the "fine print" is located in these documents that would be an alarm for us to walk away from that purchase after we review them together.

In summary, our Club specializes in Lakeview and surrounding neighborhoods based on demographics, location and high demand. I live, work and own in Lakeview and have bought and sold investment properties in Chicago and the Suburbs. You'll see first hand and learn why Lakeview and other neighborhoods are prime areas for purchasing, selling and investing in today's real estate market for strategic and solid portfolio growth. We are also here to advise our members on other local areas as well, since many members have investments or wish to Buy or Sell in Chicago and the Suburbs.
